LSRA Launches Weather Radio Service.
The Lake Simcoe Repeater Association is pleased to announce the commissioning of their weather alarm and reporting service located at Edgar ON It leverages the Environment Canada Weather Radio site at Collingwood - it operates on 162.475 Mhz FM.

On-Demand - Weather can be called up ad-hoc on 146.850 - VHF1, 147.315 - VHF2, or 442.575 - UHF by simply dialing *606 - after 2m40s it will shut off.
Alert Mode - LSRA will re-broadcast Environment Canada severe weather warnings based on predicted and current local conditions. These notices will be immediately played in real time on 146.850 VHF1. Users in conversation will be overridden by these broadcasts. Each Alarm/alert will be 2m40s in length.
These emissions from Environment Canada are broadcast in both English and French. LSRA has no control over language selection. You will have to wait until the French messaging is complete.
